The concept

A fragile sapling. An unforgiving environment.

Left unprotected, a young tree is a target. Protecteur Cactus creates a durable physical barrier that lets the tree breathe and grow — no chemicals, no maintenance.

An age-old practice

Farmers were arming their trees with thorns centuries ago

The idea is nothing new. In 1720, a French royal decree required trees, fruit trees included, to be planted along the main roads and “armed with thorns”. Eighteenth-century agronomists likewise advised surrounding young trees with thorns to protect them from livestock. Protecteur Cactus carries on that practice, in galvanised steel, for decades.

“The thorns covering it all stop livestock from coming to rub against the trees.”
